Glasgow - repairs and the VW Van club!

In Glasgow parts where acquired for Honey (new tie rod end and cv joint bolts) and the guys at GSF gave me the details of a local VW Specilist: Capaldi and Milliken who where recommended to help me out (if you are in Glasgow and need help with your VW give them a call, they where very helpful and although they where busy they let me work on the car and helped between their spare time: 0141 554 0113, they are located at 27 Anson Street, Bridgeton [just off London road]).

I only bashed my thumb a couple of times while pulling the old tie rod end out and then inserting the new one. Fortunately Neil the mechanic at the shop was there to help out where he could. Shot Neil! Also as it turns out Neil has some excellent fishing spots a little North of Glasgow worth investigating.

In the early evening I joined with the local Glaswegian VW club for a chat and made some useful contacts. http://www.vwscotclub.co.uk/

The above vans belong to Ricky and his brother Andrew. The blue one is a 73 if I remember correctly and Ricky has been doing it up slowly over the last couple of years. Its in good condition.

This little beauty is a LHD 1969 Bay. The suspension on this guy has been raised and the owner suspected that it was due to the previous owners being overly large...

If you compare this little guy to Honey you will notice that the indicators are lowered on this van and the back air intakes are half moon shaped, a little more retrto...
